MEGNATH SAHA

Born October 6,1893, Seoratli, Banglabesh.
Qualification B.Sc, M.Sc
First Job Teacher in Mathematics Department.
  - In 1921 joined calcutta science college.
Married Radharani Roy, 1918.

 

Signs of excellence :

- At mare age started searching reason behind rainbow.
- Has invented saha's Thermal ionisation Formula.
- was awarded The Griffith Prize and was given The Premchand Roychand studentship in 1919 enabling him to study abroad.

Life :

He was elected a fellow of Royal Society of london in 1927.

 

Contributions :

- In 1930 established U.P Academy of Sceience, Allahabad.
- On his recommanation National Institute of science in 1935.
- In 1938 established Indian Science News Association .
- Basing on hid ideas and the damodhar valley corporation dam was bulit on Damodhar.
 

 

Publications :

- Started a journal Science & Culture.

 

Death :              February 16, 1956.

The thinktank Meghnad saha was a brilliant, high worth scientist. He laid the seed for deveopment of laboratories and whole heartdly encouraged experiments way back in India. This eminent teacher encouraged his pupils in this angle. He believed in development of India by heavy indigenous industrialisation which could be enforced only afterhis death during 2nd five year plan.
